Deadly to viruses, is safe for humans
American scientists made a revolutionary discovery in the field of laser therapy. New technology allows you to destroy viruses and bacteria in human body without negative effects on healthy cells.
Researchers from the University of Arizona have developed a new laser technology that can destroy viruses and bacteria such as AIDS virus, without damage to healthy cells in the human body. The scientists also claim that the new technology will help stop the spread of hospital-acquired MRSA infections.
The results of this study were published in the latest issue of journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. Described how pulses from an infrared laser can be selectively directed to “bad” cells problematic micro-organisms without affecting the healthy parts of the human body.
Existing similar technologies, such as the use of ultraviolet radiation are not discriminated against, which leads to unwanted damage of the skin during the procedure, and in the worst case – to the development of skin cancer, the researchers note. In addition, these techniques are not 100% effective.
The study was experimentally obtained by the generation of femtosecond pulses (Femtosecond laser pulses) through a process called Impulsive Stimulated Raman Scattering (ISRS). Thus are produced by microorganisms lethal to vibration safe for humans.
